2018 - 2021

The Conscious Fashion Campaign, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships, co-created high-visibility activations with a coalition of leading major fashion event platforms to accelerate global fashion industry action in support of sustainable development. Through advocacy, education, and engagement, the campaign mobilized industry stakeholders to advance solutions for social, economic, and environmental change.

Campaign partners collectively represented over 800 annual events in 40 countries, hosting 12.2 million industry attendees and 136,000 exhibiting fashion, textile and lifestyle businesses.

Global Industry Mobilization

2021

Campaign to Industry Platform

As global engagement deepened, stakeholders called for a permanent platform within the United Nations ecosystem to continue convening industry leaders beyond event-based activation.

This demand directly led to the launch of the United Nations Fashion and Lifestyle Network, an online platform hosted by the United Nations connecting industry leaders, governments, media, and UN entities to advance sustainable development through collaboration and knowledge exchange.

2021

Visibility to Capital

Simultaneously, it became evident that awareness and convening alone were insufficient without direct financial investment in women-led education and workforce development. In response, the Fashion Impact Fund was established as a standalone catalytic funding mechanism.

The Fund provides grants to women-led fashion skills training programs advancing education, employment, and economic inclusion.

2021 - 2022

Amplification of Women Innovators

Building on both the institutional platform and funding mechanisms, the Campaign expanded into a New York Fashion Week digital billboard activation spotlighting 20 global women founders driving sustainable innovation.

Ten digital billboards across NASDAQ Times Square, Spring Studios, the United Nations, the New York Subway, and Metro-North amplified women-led enterprises to an audience of more than 1.5 million people.
